The dog park at Ridgeland Common reopened April 5 after a season of renovations by the Park District of Oak Park. Located off Scoville Avenue south of Lake Street, the park's hours are sunrise to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
This park features a crushed granite surface, benches, canine water fountain, evening lighting and an electronic entry system. Dog park passes are available to Oak Park Residents only. Passes must be purchased in-person at the Administrative Center at 218 Madison St. during open hours. Owners must first register their dogs with the Village of Oak Park. For more information on the park and obtaining a pass, go to www.pdop.org/parks-facilities/popular-activities/dogs/
A key card access system is in place for the dog parks. All members are required to bring and use their card to gain access to the facilities. Do not open gates for individuals who do not have their cards with them. Dog Parks are periodically monitored by staff and visited periodically by the Village of Oak Park Police. Owners not complying with rules can be subject to up to $1,000 in fines.
